Wicking bed: project update
Now into the cooler months, I needed to build some supports for my snow peas. I had been holding off planting these, but it was nearly too late. I treated the ends of 1.8m hardwood stakes with polyurethane to hold off the rot and bracketed 1.2m stakes (with the points trimmed) for the horizontal beams. This design allows me to lay horizontal dowels in a configuration which will service all squares of the bed. Garden twine and some tent pegs make up the climbing supports.
